201 Astha Valley Compound

A tropical retreat combining hospitality, wellness, sport and landscape in Phuket.

Set within the lush landscape of Astha Valley in Phuket, this hospitality compound combines three elevated Airbnb units with a swimming pool, sports court and a unique underground wellness area.

The three guest units are raised to second-floor level to take advantage of views across the valley and the small creek running alongside the property. Each unit features a generous bedroom and bathroom, together with a separate kitchen and dining area. The adjacent swimming pool follows the same orientation, opening towards the landscape and valley beyond.

Behind the guest units, a basketball and paddle court connects to a stepped, amphitheatre-like structure formed by different levels, platforms and stairs. Hidden underneath is the spa and wellness area, integrated into the landscape rather than appearing as a separate building.

An elevated massage room sits above the spa volume, overlooking the tropical garden. Below, an ice bath is positioned beneath a dramatic vertical concrete light shaft, creating changing daylight and cave-like acoustics. On the exterior, the same concrete shaft becomes a climbing wall.

At the heart of the spa is a soft red hammam hall with rounded walls and a sculptural curved ceiling. An adjoining sauna, steam room and shower complete the wellness experience.

The project brings together hospitality, sport, wellness and tropical landscape within one interconnected architectural concept.
