Designing a Dynamic and Flexible Workspace: RMA Group’s New Headquarters in Bangkok Thonglor
regroup architecture has completed the interior design for the new RMA Group headquarters located in the heart of Thonglor, Bangkok. Spanning a full floor and covering 1,200 sqm, this dynamic office space embraces a modern, flexible design that reflects the company’s diverse businesses while promoting efficiency, collaboration, and well-being.
Key Features of the Project:
Open Plan Concept: The office houses 140 open workspaces and 8 private offices, complemented by 11 meeting rooms of various sizes. These include a large boardroom with seating for 20 and smaller meeting spaces for focused collaboration.
Office Landscape: Understanding the balance between open and private spaces, the design introduces two “office islands” that help organize the large open area. These islands serve as hubs for essential office resources—printers, office supplies, air purifiers, and water dispensers—while providing informal meeting spots with seating and greenery for a refreshing break from the workstation.
Canteen with a View: The canteen is designed as a lively, yet comfortable gathering place with seating for 30-40 people. Featuring acoustic ceiling panels in organic, wave-like shapes and a beautiful view over Thonglor, this area offers employees options to dine or enjoy a coffee at bar-height counters or regular tables, all centered around a stylish wooden bar.
Themed Meeting Rooms: Inspired by RMA Group’s diverse portfolio of businesses, the meeting rooms each feature unique designs, such as automotive, coffee club, ice cream shop, and hospitality themes. These themed rooms foster creativity and make every meeting experience different, connecting employees to the company’s wide-ranging industries.
Privacy for Video Calls: Ensuring privacy for sensitive discussions, 11 small rooms dedicated to video and phone calls were installed at the center of the office. Each of these rooms is themed around a city where RMA Group operates, creating a global atmosphere within the workspace through distinctive wall designs and unique pendant lights.
Work Modes Integrated into Design:
At the core of this project is regroup architecture’s framework of five work modes:
– Focus: Productive spaces designed for individual, deep work.
– Collaborate: Meeting and shared spaces fostering innovative discussions and teamwork.
– Learn: Areas dedicated to learning and intellectual growth.
– Socialize: Zones for informal meetings and relaxation to enhance social interaction.
– Relax: Dedicated spaces to support well-being and reduce stress.
The layout and flow of the RMA office are carefully designed to support these work modes, creating a balanced and adaptable environment that aligns with RMA Group’s culture and business needs. Whether employees are focusing on individual tasks, collaborating in a group, or taking a well-earned break, this workspace encourages productivity and fosters a sense of community.
By integrating these work modes and paying close attention to both aesthetics and functionality, regroup architecture has delivered an office that supports RMA Group’s operational goals while promoting employee well-being in an inspiring setting.
