Clockworks

An Alternative Carpark Tower

“Clockworks” is a precision-engineered vertical structure that integrates two distinct parking systems with public spaces in a stacked, multi-functional tower. Designed for urban Bangkok, it is seamlessly connected to the BTS and MRT networks, offering both convenience and innovation.

The open framework highlights a double helix ramp system on the lower levels, while the upper levels feature vertical car elevators. Between these, strategically placed entry points, a lobby, bar, and event spaces serve as social hubs. Tapered, thin concrete plates, with alternating cut corners on each floor, extend beyond the vertical framework to minimize material use while creating a dynamic architectural form.

With electric car docking stations and rooftop wind turbines, the design supports environmental sustainability, while incorporating urban farming fosters a sense of community and social responsibility. Economically and ecologically efficient, “Clockworks” redefines urban carpark towers with its balance of functionality, sustainability, and modern design aesthetics.
