196 TWO houses On Nut

Office & Private House

TWO houses On Nut

Two houses, one language — living and working in harmony.

Two adjacent buildings—one a family home, the other a commercial studio building—designed to coexist within a quiet low-rise residential neighborhood in On Nut. Although distinct in function, both buildings share a cohesive architectural language and a connected landscape. Subtle accents of the client’s pink corporate color appear throughout: boldly on the ground-floor yoga studio façade, and more discreetly on the family home, revealed behind round ventilation blocks.

A folding gate system allows the two properties to operate either as one integrated compound or as separated, private zones, giving the family home and its pool area full independence when needed.

Family Home

A two-storey residence organized around garden and pool views.
The ground floor features an entrance hall and a large open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area, all oriented toward the landscaped outdoor space. On the second floor, four bedrooms are arranged around a central landing that expands into a small private hangout overlooking the entrance through a glass balustrade.

Different floor heights create spatial variety: a 3.3 m high living room and an elevated master bedroom ceiling, which includes a small loft-like nook above the wardrobes, accessed by a ladder.

Flexible living is supported through a mobile TV cabinet that can divide or open the living and dining areas as needed. Overlapping balconies with planterboxes integrated handrails and an extended roof overhang provide shading, reducing solar heat gain. A two-car parking bay is screened from the commercial building’s garden by a 2 m wall of round ventilation blocks, ensuring privacy while allowing airflow.

Commercial Building

The commercial building accommodates creative and wellness functions across multiple levels.
The ground floor hosts a large, nearly 4-meter-high yoga studio, two photo/video/podcast studios, and an entrance lobby with product displays. The soaring yoga volume pushes upward into the upper floors, creating a split-level roof profile. This configuration allows for clerestory windows between roof planes, bringing natural light and ventilation deep into the building.

A linear staircase weaves through the height transitions, connecting the lobby with the second-floor program: a meeting room with a bay window, and a podcast studio with a rear balcony. The top floor features a large open office, including a show kitchen for product photography and videography, as well as a private office.

Outdoor areas support the program: car parking at the front and a lush garden running along the side of the yoga studio, visually and spatially extending toward the neighboring family home.
